In this collection of photographs, you'll find a vibrant burst of colors captured from my lush garden, where I've immortalized the beauty of blooming flowers in all their resplendent glory. These images celebrate the vibrancy of life, showcasing nature's delicate artistry.

Equally, my photography delves into the quieter, more contemplative side of nature, with snapshots of antlers and bones discovered during my walks. These relics of the wild carry stories of creatures that once roamed freely, now preserved in their tranquil repose.

Both sets of images capture the duality of nature's ever-changing tableau, from the exuberance of life to the solemnity of its eventual return to the earth.

The high desert is a place of endless beauty and wonder, where even the seemingly ordinary can be transformed into something extraordinary. On my daily hikes, I may come across plants and weeds that, upon closer inspection, reveal intricate patterns and colors. The antlers and bones found where they lay are of the local wildlife. They are works of art, showcasing the strength and majesty of the creatures that roam the land around me. The bugs and insects that flit about may be small, but they add to the beauty of the ecosystem with their diverse colors and patterns. Each day, I am surrounded by the beauty of nature, from the towering pines to the delicate flowers that bloom in the most unexpected places. By keeping my eyes open and appreciating the world around me, I find beauty in even the smallest things. The high desert comes alive with new discoveries and wonders each and every day.

Still Life and Death

In my Still Life photos I incorporate the beauty of cut cultivated flowers from florist shops or my garden along with dead things such as butterflies, lizards, insects and the bones from animals that I find in the high desert. The contrast can be subtle and illustrates to me how even after death these natural objects can be beautiful and provide a thought-provoking image.

Frozen

Photographing frozen flowers is a unique and beautiful experience because it captures the delicate intricacies of the flowers in a frozen moment in time. The ice crystals that form on the petals and leaves create a stunning and ethereal effect that highlights the natural beauty of the flowers in a way that is rarely seen.

Found

The beauty of found leaves, rocks, and natural objects in their untouched state within nature is a testament to the inherent artistry of the world around us. When we encounter these simple treasures, their unadorned forms can captivate our senses and evoke a profound appreciation for the natural world. In most cases, I do not arrange or disturb any of the natural objects that I find lying on the ground. I look for the intrinsic design and beauty as they lay.
