The Beauty That Surrounds Us in Nature
Nature reveals its beauty in countless ways—not only in the vibrant colors of a flower in full bloom, but also in the quiet elegance of a weathered antler or a sun-bleached bone resting peacefully on the forest floor.
I am drawn to both.
The flowers from my garden celebrate life at its brightest, revealing the delicate details, rich colors, and fleeting moments that often go unnoticed. In contrast, the antlers, bones, feathers, and other natural treasures I encounter during my walks speak of time, resilience, and the quiet rhythm of the natural world. Occasionally, my photographs also incorporate legally owned Indigenous artifacts from Arizona—silent reminders of the people who lived in harmony with this landscape centuries before us. These objects are included with deep respect for their history and cultural significance.
Together, these photographs reflect the extraordinary beauty found throughout nature's endless cycle and the enduring connection between people and the land. Whether vibrant with life or gently shaped by time, each subject has its own story to tell, inviting us to slow down, look more closely, and appreciate the remarkable world that surrounds us.
Still Life and Death
Life and death are not opposites—they are part of the same natural journey.
In these still life photographs, I pair the delicate beauty of fresh flowers from my garden or local florists with natural objects I discover in the high desert: weathered bones, fragile butterflies, insects, feathers, and other remnants of the wild. Together, they create a quiet dialogue between life in bloom and the enduring beauty that remains after life has passed.

Photographing frozen flowers is a unique and beautiful experience because it captures the delicate intricacies of the flowers in a frozen moment in time. The ice crystals that form on the petals and leaves create a stunning and ethereal effect that highlights the natural beauty of the flowers in a way that is rarely seen.
Lost and Found
The beauty of found leaves, rocks, and natural objects in their untouched state within nature is a testament to the inherent artistry of the world around us. When we encounter these simple treasures, their unadorned forms can captivate our senses and evoke a profound appreciation for the natural world. In most cases, I do not arrange or disturb any of the natural objects that I find lying on the ground. I look for the intrinsic design and beauty as they lay.
