There is nothing quite like encountering a band of wild horses in their own world.

Long before you hear the sound of their hooves, you feel their presence. They move across the landscape with quiet confidence—stallions watching over their families, mares guiding their foals, and young horses discovering the world around them. Together, they embody a spirit that is both powerful and deeply peaceful.

My photographs are an invitation to witness these horses as they truly are. I approach them with patience and respect, allowing their natural behavior to unfold without interruption. Rather than chasing dramatic moments, I am drawn to the quieter ones—a protective glance between a mare and her foal, the curiosity of a young colt, the watchful eye of a lead stallion, or the silence that settles over a band at day's end. Those are the moments that reveal their character.

America's wild horses are more than icons of the West. They are living reminders of our country's history and of the enduring relationship between wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. Yet their future remains uncertain as shrinking habitat and ongoing management challenges continue to shape their existence.

Through my photography, I hope to inspire not only admiration for their beauty, but also a deeper appreciation for their lives, their families, and the wild places they still call home. If my images encourage even one person to value and protect these remarkable horses, then they have fulfilled their greatest purpose.
